As you may have already heard some of us embarked on another trip to the Isle of Man this year. In total seventeen of us went on this memorable trip organised by John F. And we even managed to discover some more MSL members on the island!

It is a long and boring trip up there, luckily made more interesting by modern navigational devices a la Peter ‘Tom Tom’ G., and Blackpool’s one-way system. However, by Saturday night even the last of us had safely arrived at the Wellbeck Hotel in Douglas, just in time to do the compulsory trip around the course Sunday morning. Mike S. led the tour and also kindly explained the most interesting and famous corners to all newcomers. The day was completed with some ‘old bike peeping’ in Castletown and a milkshake in Port Erin. That’s tough bikers for you! Some spent the first day of racing at the Grandstand where Mike once again explained everything. The rest kept busy trying to find interesting views of the racetrack, eventually ending up at the Gooseneck and later in Laxey for some toasted teacakes. Yeah, really tough bikers. ;-) In good MSL tradition Tuesday’s highlight was a trip on the choo-choo train followed by the Triumph meeting at the Waterfall pub. I counted 19 MSL bodies in total and Doddie will be pleased to hear that all the lads (well, almost all) wore their MSL shirts for the occasion. Altogether a very handsome turnout. Wednesday was another race day for some and a day of recreational horse riding for others. I understand that Neil –one of the racers who stayed at our hotel- won the 250 class that day. Well done, lad! And of course there was the Ramsey sprint on Thursday, although none of us had a go this time. Alan and Daniel had to leave that afternoon and the rest of us eagerly awaited Friday’s races. And what a long wait it was. So long in fact that I didn’t get to see any racing as I took the ferry back that afternoon. I hear that Neil –the racer - see above- was a little unlucky that day, first having problems with a loose petrol tank and then with another bike getting up his backside…I understand the trip home was mastered well by everyone apart from one little mishap involving a Tiger 100 and some oil on the floor.

17’Sept’06, Sunday Run	Sunday Club Run to a Biker Café in Horam, East Sussex. Bob Simmonds will be leading the Run. The party will be leaving from Ryka’s at 10.00 a.m. –sharp- and from Godstone ponds around 10.30 a.m. Please ensure you have full tank of petrol.
19’Sept’06, BBQ	Club BBQ. With the days getting shorter and shorter at this time of the year, we have to apply some time management and will therefore skip the bike show in favour of food and drink.
23’+24’Sept’06, Steam Rally	Wattlehurst Steam Rally.
26’Sept’06, Club Run	Club Run to the ‘Skimmington Castle’ in Reigate, starting from the ‘Princess of Wales’ @ 8.00 p.m. Please ensure you have a full tank of petrol.

For those of you who went to the IoM this year Michael W. would like to take the opportunity to thank you all for making him feel so welcome. He had the most enjoyable time and is glad to have been an associate of the Mighty South London – even though it was just for the week.
